Current Event

Microsoft made a new app that easily transfers data on your mac to windows. The article talks about the the basic set up of the app and how easy it is to transfer your data by asking you what folders you want to keep which are compressed into a Zip folder accessible on a Surface Book; However, Microsoft advises you to use it only for surface Tablets. They can be accsessed on any computer with Windows on it. This is Microsoft trying to take Apple customers. Judging the feedback from the article's comment section by mac users, they seem to like Mac better than Windows anyways.

This is similar to the "Move to IOS" app that Apple made a few years ago.

This relates to Emerging Technologies because it helps new windows users learn about a new way to transfer your data to a new system.

I found that Microsoft has recently more "hostile" towards apple. essentially calling the new apple Ipad:

"A fake computer trying to pass of as a real one."

Peer feedback

As I explored my peer's infographics, my favorite one was Gavin Woodworth's where I learned all about Memes and where to find them. From Amits infographic I learned about the NCSY, and what they do. From Chris's, I learned about Football Concussions and where they mostly happen. From Cooper's I learned about gamers and how many of them there are. Lastly from Parker's I learned about both gatorade and water, and the benefits of each.

Info Graphic

I learned that infographics are used to present data. I did not enjoy it because the tools to make infographics are not the greatest. I would use it as a guide in an actual presentation. I used easily. The site was easy, but it was frustrating to make. I would look for a different one.

Infographics

Infographics are visual representations of information, and data. The purpose of an infographic is to make the reader look at data presented and compare the data given to them without having to read a long article or scientific journal.

Information best displayed on infographics are stats about a certain topic, like childhood obesity. They help convey a message by letting the reader look at it visually in order to capture their attention.

I would use an infographic to organize data and describe it.

Canva V Lucidpress

The easiest design program to use was Canva, and was also the easiest to sign up for. Canva is more simple to use and has a lot of free items to insert into your project. However Canva does have a lot of paid content, which are better than the free ones. If you want to make a brand in Canva it costs money. Lucid Press has a file organizer so you can better organize your numerous documents. Lucid Press also has a new feature where you can insert and in-design import.  Lucid Press however could be harder to use for some people.

Lucid Press made the nicest documents. Canva has more free features, but I thought Lucid Press was better. I liked Lucid Press better because I felt it was easier to use, and it made better documents.
